Service Information & Biography
I was born and raised in McKeller township. Graduated High school in Parry Sound in 1955.
First employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia in Parry Sound, then CIL in Nobel. My civil service started with a move to the Parry Sound office of The Lands and Forest (now Natural Resources) in 1960. I was transferred to the Powassan office with the Lands and Forest in 1965.
I was hired by the Ontario Provincial Police in 1969 and posted to the Powassan detachment. In 1978 I was transferred to the Kirkland Lake detachment. In 1982 I accepted a move to return to Parry Sound where I retired in 1992 after 32.5 yrs of civil service.
Married for 67 years to my childhood sweetheart Irva, we raised 5 children (1 girl and 4 boys)
Built a new house at 180 Highway 124 McDougall in 1991 where I still reside.
My wife Irva passed away in December 2024.
I love the outdoors and enjoy Hunting, fishing, gardening and making Maple Syrup.
